Week 8

This blogging has been quite a journey for me and a ride of fun. I must admit when I first stated blogging I hated it, and I didn't think that I would be any good at it. But now that we are concluding this course and things are starting to pick up in the blog. I am starting to realize that this blogging really helps my classmates and I converse on a professional level. It's nice to see what their strengths are on there blog. At the same time it has helped me become a better student, educator, and teacher. My fellow classmates raise the bar really high, therefore I am challenged to raise my bar even higher. So I say thank you for your example of excellence.

To post three ideals contained in the NAEYC and DEC was very difficult for me. I would have rather posted all of them because all of them meant a great deal to me. I think the number one rule here is Respect. Everyone deserves resepct especailly every child. With respect comes much appreaciation. Appreaciation fo the child, who they are, there individaulity, and there ethinciy. Ethnicity is very important because that goes along with serving as advocates for children and there families. Not just children with disabliites however all children. Integrity is one of the most highest qaulities a person can value and establish in their work ethic. Espcially while working with Children. I really think I will take to heart serving as an advocate for children with disablities and all children. Chidlren really need people to advocate for them. However I think the most important way to advocate is to educate. Knowledge is power and power helps engulf change. Change brings forth a revolution that changes things.

Week Four Blog Assignement

The two people I choose to admire in the early childhood education field was Loris Malaguzzi, and Patty Hill. Loris Malaguzzi was the founder of the Reggio Emila Approach. I can related to Loris Malaguzzi because he found a group of women building a school out of the ruins of World War II. He seen the heart and dedications of these women and began to help them as well. His approach, and style of learning really revolutionized the twentieth century. This really motivated me to work myself to the fullest, honoring education and the freedom to become educated. Learning about Malaguzzi helps me advance as an educator so that I may become just as successful.

            Patty Smith Hill was a trend setter who took early childhood education by storm with her musical talents and abilities. She will always be remembered and never forgotten, for coming up with Happy Birthdays beautiful sounding music. I can related to her music ability because I am musically inclined. I am very honored to hear that another educator was able to utilize her talents in the form of educating a child.

Sandy Escobido testified in Week two’s video about being a professional educator in Los Angeles Pre- school. She is a is a deputy field Director , for California Community foundation. Sandy talked about her parents making a huge impact in her life. They were very  involved in her education inpsite of the obstacles she faced. In the inner city.  It was when she embarked on her carrier in Early Childhood Education and realized what and impact that she could make on today’s children. This gave her a feeling of effecting tomorrows future.

My All Time Favorite Childhood Story Books.

I  can remember enjoying the following Children's stories as child. I just loved reading the bible as a little girl. I also loved Disney's Mother Goose stories.


We had these in our home since I was a baby. Great memories!
My mother purchased me this brown bible and I remember reading it. I think I just about finished it from cover to cover.

Week Two Blog Association

            Kids often say the most amazing things. Especially toddlers who are just starting to talk. One of my most favorite things that my son seems to say when I am scolding him is hello. I say to him " now son you know your not suppose to be doing that because of xyz". He will than respond to me by saying HI! He will say it a few times. I love this! 

   If I had to choose a children's book that I love, it would be quite difficult to narrow it down, however If I had to do so I could. I would totally say the I love you forever, and I like you for always book. Although I changed the words to forever and every my baby you will be. What I really marvel in, is the ability for a child to learn so early on. However one of the most moving things that I have just recently realized was that It takes a community to raise a child. The support system factor is really and important one. There are many people who don't have a support system, and those that do may not have a healthy one. I have come to realize that it's not only important to have a support system, however it is important to have a healthy one. We are not perfect beings however we must acknowledge that fact that we or forever changing and forever growing into better people. There is no such thing as a perfect person or parent. God is the only perfect one. However there is such a thing as stability, and normal wholesome living. Life does obtain it's problems and challenges. However there is a format that one can look up to and follow. This is why community programs and activities are so important for children. It really helps define them. Not only does help the child, however it helps the parent. This is what makes that statement true, that it takes a community to raise a child. Churches, and non profit organizations need to recognize the importance of the child activities that they provide within there reach of there community. We often neglect and forget the Early Childhood division of our non profit organizations.
